WHO WE ARE
Bethany Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation in Brunswick, MD. We are dedicated to serving the local community by sharing the love of Christ in numerous ways. The typical Sunday involves tradition worship with a fellowship hour following the service.
We are an ELCA congregation and are members of the South Mountain Share Ministry with St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Burkittsville, MD.

Our Pastor
Pastor Charlie Frekot has been with Bethany Lutheran Church since September 2022. He is the pastor of South Mountain Shared Ministry which is made up of Bethany Lutheran and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Burkittsville, MD. He graduated from Susquehanna University and went to seminary at United Lutheran Seminary on the Gettysburg campus. He has been involved at Mar-Lu-Ridge Summer Camp and Retreat Center for many years as a counselor and chaplain and currently serves on their Board of Directors. He has served as a mentor in the Lutheran Youth Organazation and helps lead retreats for youth in the Delaware-Maryland and Metro-DC Synods. Some of his favorite things to do are to play board games, watch the Washington Commanders, and trying to find new diners.
